My classroom is filled with eager, enthusiastic learners from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. My students respond best to hands-on, visual learning. They are energized by experiences that allow them to think, create and explore their world.
In the age of technology, my aim is to prepare my students to be proficient and equipped to function in the 21st century.
They should have experiences in coding, robotics and engineering. I believe that by creating these opportunities at a young age, students will not only thrive, but become future leaders who create and envision change.
My Project
My Kindergarten students will have the opportunity to learning coding, robotics and experience technology with robots, task cards and visual learning tools. Young children are highly motivated by activities that engage them in hands-on learning.
Wonder Workshop's Dash robot allows young children to learn the basics of coding and robotics in a simple, friendly and engaging format.
By adding these robots and accompanying resources to my classroom, the students will be able to engage in problem solving, planning, and teamwork at a very young age. They will learn to work in teams to design, test and revise codes for their robots.
In addition, the Wonder Workshop Dash & Dot Learn to Code Challenge Card Box will help challenge my students to create their own codes based on a variety of tasks cards that are leveled from simple to more challenging. The Wonder Workshop Xylophone for Dash Robot is an engaging tool that allows the students to challenge themselves by coding their robot to play a musical tune. Finally, the PEVO V4K Ultra High Definition USB Document Camera will allow me to model and demonstrate to my students how they will utilize their robots and task cards to the best of their ability.
