My Students

I teach at an alternative school where students are sent for poor and dangerous behavior. It's my job to help teach them how to learn and grow in an educational setting. This summer program will help me learn how to implement robotics and circuitry into my science lessons. Hands-on learning and accomplishing a goal are great non-traditional ways to help my students learn to be successful in the classroom. Robotics also teaches coding which is a skill that they can put on a resume for finding jobs.

My Project

This camp will help me learn how to use coding to build electronic circuitry. It will help me see how to implement this into my classroom as an option for my students who often need non-traditional educational strategies to help them be successful. Being able to be hands-on and accomplish a goal is a great way for my students to build confidence in their ability to be successful. This camp also allows me to learn more about coding for a Robotics program as well. Myself and a fellow teacher have recently applied for a robotics grant and will have a team next year. Learning coding will be essential for that as well.
