My students are the future and we need to work together to prepare these students to become all they can be. Help the future scientists, makers, engineers, techies, physicists and artists in my classroom awaken to the world around them!
My students are innovative, creative, and imaginative thinkers who come from a low income area in Florida.
These elementary students love to learn about science and they love their technology even more. They are motivated to build, make, and invent. With your help, we can provide these students to age-appropriate tools, and even some that will push their limits, that will expose them to complex concepts in science, including computer science. It is my hope that through this project, my students, especially those who are under-represented in the STEM fields, can find their passion for coding, building, or inventing and use that STEAM to power toward a fulfilling career.
My Project
Coding is truly the language of the future. When my current students are adults, the world will be an entirely different place compared to today. Part of this new world is the advancement of technologies of all kinds, from Artificial Intelligence to Assistive Technology, we will live in a world that is run by technology. So with that in mind, shouldn't we be preparing our students for the jobs of the future? I think we should and that's why I am asking for these books all about coding!
Code is the language of technology and technology is the future.
If we fail to teach our students computer sciences at a young age, then technological advancements will leave them behind the times and without careers. These books will combine literacy with coding. Scratch, Code.org, Python, Javascript are all great for teaching coding, but sometimes, we just need some inspiration. That's where these books come in. With books like "Helping Kids with Coding for Dummies" and "Coding for Kids for Dummies" my Title 1 students will extend their knowledge and make advancements in their coding knowledge. If I can at all set my students up for success now, I will. I truly believe teaching them coding and making skills will make the biggest impact in their lives. So, please help me help my students get their hands on STEAM books all about different coding projects.
