Help me give my students code and go robotic mice and magnetic track builders together with dice and math flash cards to not only practice but make understanding, practice and experience math addition and subtraction fun and exciting.
I teach at a high poverty school with 100% free breakfast and lunch. My students come from mostly single family households with hard working parents. Parents often don't have time, money, or energy to enhance their children's learning.
My students have eager young minds, like a sponge soaking up any knowledge, loving anything new and exciting they are exposed to, especially technology.
They love to learn. I can see their eyes light up with excitement and their smiling faces when they get to experiment with the world at their little finger tips.
My Project
My students will use these code and go robotic mice in combination with the dice and flash cards to practice their addition and subtraction facts. The mice will work as a check point that integrates the understanding of how to code a robotic mouse. Additionally students get to create tracks with the magnetic blocks and have their mouse coded to overcome and obstacle course.
This project will ensure that students practice their math facts and at the same time have fun learning coding mice with ease and solve tricky math with excitement.
Students need their basic math facts and technological know how to be ready for their future in school and in the business world.
