My Students

My students are seven to twelve-year-old children with brilliant, creative minds. At home, my students do not all have extras. I teach in a working-class town where many parents are busy working to provide for their families. Home support is not always a priority.

Our students come to school with open minds and big hearts.

As a teacher, I have witnessed so many positive experiences from my students. No matter what happens at home, my students stay focused on their school work. At my school, we promote positive behavior, attitude, responsibility, and knowledge.

My Project

mTiny is a Panda themed robot that students can program with code to move around a mat. Students are able to use the mat squares to build various scenarios and levels.

This robot will help my students develop 21st century learning skills, skills like problem solving, teamwork, and critical thinking.

I want to expose them to new areas for the future.

The great thing about this robot is it works without any other devices! This will help our class out as we are not restricted to using an iPad. I love how this robot is interactive and lets students create many different scenarios.

My goal is to get students coding as early as kindergarten and build upon skills as they move up in grade. I see the same students from kindergarten through fourth grade, so this allows me to keep challenging them with new resources!
