Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are fired up about technology. They are eager for opportunities to learn more. Let's help their minds grow!
Our school is a Title 1 school with a high population of English language learners.
Our school recently went 1 to 1 with Chrome books in the upper grades. With more access to technology, students are motivated to learn more. This project will take advantage of their enthusiasm.
My Project
A Maker Space in the library will be the first in our school district. With these materials, we will also be able to begin an after school club for coding and robotics. The Maker Space, combined with coding and robotics will encourage creativity, encourage collaboration and enhance the critical thinking of our students. Through this project, students will be introduced to computer science. They will learn coding which combines math, science and art. The robotics will bring that math and science to life.
Empowering Students Through Art and technology will inspire our students to reach for their dreams.
Students will be introduced to new ideas and experiences. The Maker Space and After School Coding Club will allow students to explore art, science and mathematics in new ways.
