This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students and I were in the midst of creating weather balloons with the Raspberry Pi. All of our supplies are now locked away at school. With the 8th graders going to the high school, I would like to send supplies to them so that they can complete their projects at home.
My Project
These materials will give students a chance to complete the work they began prior to going to high school. Unfortunately, our code club Saturdays were cut short, so this way, they can finish what we started.
I'm very proud of the work that we began this year.
Students were using these materials to create weather stations and low altitude weather balloons. Others were just getting hang of coding. These materials when combined with what we have worked on will allow them to sense environmental changes. These students are a great group of kids and it is an honor to get to work with them. They will be the next group of coding geniuses. Exposing them to opportunities that they don't normally see will give them a chance to dream big.
