My students attend school at a small community school. Our school is small with less than 200 students. Our school is a mix of rural and urban students. Many of the parents of my students also attended our school as children.
This year, I have fifteen lively second grade students in my classroom.
My students love learning using technology. My goal is to make learning fun for them as they practice their skills.
They often don't realize they are practicing skills because they are having so much fun.
My Project
My school recently purchased an Osmo system for my students to use on our school iPad. This system allows students to play learning games off of the iPad screen. These games require special pieces that work in conjunction with the Osmo system. My students are currently loving the tangrams and alphabet games.
We need Osmo games to practice more of of our math standards including number tiles and the fraction pizza.
We also need two coding games to encourage STEM skills. The Coding Jam game will reach students who have a love of music and also allow them to practice coding. The Coding Awbie game is perfect for new coders as it introduces coding and problem solving skills.
