Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a safe, successful, high-performing and family-friendly school. Our urban, diverse community welcomes students of all ethnicities, and we recognize and celebrate the deep cultural diversity that our school represents. We currently have children ages 5-12.

Our students and staff are bright, energetic, and compassionate!

All students have physical education, digital art, science, music and computer. Our active School Parent Council meets monthly, with childcare provided. We offer after school tutorial support. YMCA has off-site, extended-day. All communication is in English and Spanish.

My Project

We are requesting clothing and other resources that our students are in need of at school and may not be receiving at home. We are also requesting medical supplies to help assess children and can refer to other agencies as needed. Clothing such as pants, socks, and underwear, storage for these items, and items for assessment like BP cuff and pulse oximeter are in need. Clothing to those children in need!

Teachers and staff at our school wear many hats and go beyond for their students.

We are often the front-line social workers in schools, and regularly assist our students with critical life needs, like warm coats, clean clothes, personal hygiene items, and assessments that would otherwise have been provided at home.
