Every child that enters the doors of my school is special. They are made to feel safe, loved, and valued. Our school is known as "the best kept secret" in the city because we truly love our students and reach out to create relationships with families that last far beyond the years spent in elementary school. Our faculty and staff is a family, and that family atmosphere spills over into each and every classroom.
Students in my school represent a very diverse population, including a very large population of special education students.
Being a Title I school, every student receives free breakfast and lunch. The support we provide our students is incredible, and the growth they attain each year is unbelievable. We truly love our students and believe that they can be successful in their own way.
In the first part of this project, donors generously provided uniform shirts, shorts, and pants for many of our students in need. This project will help provide new underwear, socks, and shoes to go along with the uniform clothes.
Many times, I have brought socks and shoes from my own home for students in my class who were in need.
However, I don't always have the sizes they need. This project will allow my school to house a range of sizes in our uniform bank so that any student in need will have their own size. Your contribution to this project will help many students feel clean and confident to start their day at school. Students simply cannot be successful if they are worried about their personal needs not being met. Clean, nice clothes brings a sense of confidence to a child. Thank you for contributing to this very practical, yet essential need in my school.
