This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class consists of five students, two boys and three girls that are all African American. They attend a school in an urban school district serving low socio-economic population. All of my students receive Special Education services in the area of Language Arts and Math. My students are inquisitive, capable, and, enthusiastic. Despite challenges faced based on their disabilities, my students come to school ready to do their very best. Each day my students continue to amaze me, they are truly Terrific Kids!
My Project
Currently, my class shares a computer cart with three 5th grade classes, which means occasionally we are left without access to technology. Understanding the importance of having technology in the classroom, I bring my personal iPad to ensure my students are exposed to technology as an additional resource to aid in their academic development. The variety of apps helps students maximize their level of participation, interaction and function within the classroom. The requested Chromebooks and iPads will give my students the exposure needed to increase reading levels, writing, research and overall access to the curriculum. Please help me purchase new chrome books and iPads that will assist with closing the learning gap for the students in my classroom.
