Our school is a Tier 1 Title I school. After more than one year learning online due to the pandemic, almost all my students struggle to get into their current grade level. The difficulties they are facing now are far more difficult than other years before. Instructions and works on grade level sometimes bring so much frustrations that we have to do our best packing it in a very fun ways. However, besides the difficulties they are experiencing, every student of mine has capabilities, talents, and strengths. Sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. The students in my class strive for excellence.
My class consists of 25 amazing students who are coming from low incomes family.
Despite their circumstances, they are always ready to learn and grow!
Of those 25, 30% of them are English learners. Having adequate supply in our classroom is very helpful for them!
My Project
The use of this supply will brighten up our days and they also are used daily activity in our classroom, especially in math. Using the workshop model in math, students use the hand on activities working on their addition and subtraction strategies. This will make students more engage and get through the challenges closing the gap they are facing. Having the correct tools reduced the frustrations and distractions. Having brand new decorations in the classroom will make them love staying in the classroom more and work together.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not!
