This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are ready to start reading at grade level. We are ready to increase interventions in our classrooms to ensure students who aren't reading in middle school leave campus with the knowledge and skills to be life-long leaders.

More than 75% of students qualify for free and reduced lunch.

Although we are an award winning campus in several areas, 50% of our students do not read on grade level. Grade level reading is a crucial part of students growth. If students can't read, success in the classroom is nearly impossible.

My Project

Students will use the iPad Learning Lab for reading interventions; they will be used in a number of ways including increasing the basics of reading for middle school students. Students will use them to access a number of resources to increase their reading abilities, including grade level texts and systems that address the more basic components of reading.

Working with students who aren't reading at the middle school level is an intricate process.

A student's ability to read directly impacts their performance in the classroom and beyond; it is the school's responsibility to close this gap. Having a system such as the iPad Learning Lab will quickly expand access to a number of interventions and materials.
