This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Help to close the Digital Divide Gap! The Digital Divide refers to the gap between people with effective access to digital and information technology and those with very limited or no access at all. My students, unfortunately, fall within the very limited or no access at all category.
I teach and support K-5 special needs students in a low-income public school.
My students are ready and eager to learn but they simply do not have access to the necessary tools and resources they need to be successful. The lack of technology has caused the lack of useful information and knowledge in the lives of my students.
My Project
Technology offers a unique opportunity to extend learning support beyond the classroom, something that has been difficult to do until now. This technology tool, when used effectively, will increase student learning. This project will help to give my students the high-tech skills to access the Internet and participate in e-commerce and/or e-democracy.
This project is so important because the Digital Divide is real.
My students have the unequal access to information and communication technology. This project would not only help to give them technology access, it would help to close that Digital Divide gap.
