We have wonderful community involvement at our school. Our students come eager to learn and are supported by their loved ones in their journey. They work hard and are ambitious. They have a great desire to learn all they can. They are fun and creative.
As teachers, we feel very fortunate to teach such a wonderful group of students.
Our team works closely together and we encourage each other in our teaching. We work at a school where everyone lives within walking distance. We enjoy close involvement with our community.
My Project
Covid-19 has created some difficult learning situations for students. We are seeing a decrease in student testing scores in reading. Participating in a training program that is specifically designed to address holes in students' reading has given me more knowledge to help. Now I just need some tools to help me.
I am requesting tools that were modeled in activities in the LTRS program.
I will use these tools as I work to help students close the gap in their reading fluency and comprehension. These items will be used to learn to read and spell multi-syllabic words and learn word meanings. Students will have a hands-on experience that I wouldn't be able to provide otherwise.
Our students have been through much these past two years. I have also requested cushions, stools, and clipboards to give my class more options in where they sit while they work and learn. I also firmly believe in student collaboration which means they aren't sitting at their desk all day. These cushions and stools will give groups the option to work where they are most comfortable. I appreciate your consideration of my project.
