My students need 6 Chromebooks to facilitate individual lessons and receive personal intervention.

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. My classroom is made up of many different cultures. My students speak several different languages; Spanish, Yoruba, and Vietnamese are just a few! They see education as a path to a better future and have a deep desire to be successful in life. Many of my students lack access to technology at home. I believe that all of my children deserve access to technology and a quality education.
My students need 6 Acer Chromebooks to complete coursework online, connect with other students across the world, and to use for problem based learning in math and science.
Hurricane Harvey kept us from school for two weeks, this technology will help us make up that time!
The addition of 6 Chromebooks would allow my students to practice their math daily in my classroom, and receive work tailored to their needs. Harvey kept us from class for 11 days, the addition of these Chromebooks will assist tremendously in the process of making up that time. The Chromebooks allow me to assign math and science lessons just for them, this enables me to facilitate more differentiation within the classroom and cultivate global learning. These wonderful things become problematic when you have more students in your class than computers. Even though my students are great about waiting their turn to get onto the computer, many of them are ESL students who benefit from having things read to them and the pictorial support technology provides. By adding 6 Chromebooks, students will be able to limit the amount of time having to wait their turn and focus on increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement in math and science thus greatly improve their technology skills and aid in their language development.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material and not whether they will have to wait until the next day to get on the computer. I will be able to provide on level work for each student, my students will be able to grow in their understanding academically and their language development.
