This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year, I have the most wonderful group of 1st graders. They are excited and energetic. My first graders this year are very diverse with English Language Learners from many different backgrounds. I am looking forward to providing them with a creative and meaningful education.

My students are hardworking and have the greatest attitudes!

Our school is a Title I school with many students on free and reduced price lunch. Despite this, they come to school each day with smiles on their faces.

My Project

This teaching easel will be used as a big book holder and will allow the teacher to handle the big books required by our curriculum more easily. The students will be able to look closely at the letters, words, sentences, and pictures while the teacher is reading the stories.

All the students will be able to sit on the carpet and have full view the big books.

The students will be able to join in on story discussions, participate in the reading lesson by coming up to the book, and practice the reading skill and strategies the teacher is using that day for that story. Having these holders will help the teacher to be hands-free.
