Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are enthusiastic but often lack the motivation to work on their classwork. They also need support with English speaking and listening. Most are English learners and are struggling in their English Language Arts class.
My students come from a diverse school in a large city.
Part of the school is a magnet with students from all over the city. My students are comprised mainly of residential students from the local low-income neighborhood. Most are English learners, as well.
My Project
We need chair socks, cut tennis balls, for our chairs to be quiet. Also we need clocks with dates and day of the weeks showing. These help the students remember what day it is. This is an important step for the students towards independence and turning work in on time. Finally, we feed the squirrel in the trees outside of the classroom and on the corner of the campus. The students really enjoy seeing the wild life on campus and the squirrels enjoy the food. These items will help our classroom.
