Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 20 amazing first grade students! They are so full of energy and the desire to learn. Every morning, they walk in with smiles on their faces and questions about what they will be learning. They are excited to be at school!
I want to provide these students with the materials they deserve.
These students care about what they will be learning. They stay engaged and active while they learn. They take their time with activities and want to do their best. They apply what they learn throughout the day in every way the can. These students are amazing.
My Project
At the beginning of the year, every student is given a supplies list that has everything a student needs for the year, except a clipboard. My students participate in many activities that require them to move around the room, and having to find a spot to lay their paper so they can write can take away from the fun of the activity. I also have students who cannot sit at their seat for long amounts of time, so getting up and moving around with a clipboard would be beneficial to them.
Having clipboards would allow my students to be more engaged in their activity.
The crates would give my students a place to put their clipboards when they are not in use, and the paper would give my students extra materials to complete activities.
