This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Welcome to second grade! We're constantly moving, playing, and falling in love with learning. My students are high energy, lovable, growing, creative young children. Many come from difficult family backgrounds, questionable home lives, and low socioeconomic neighborhoods. They all are growing up in a difficult world, yet you can see the glow in their eyes!

Their minds are soaking up the world around them, and the classroom is a safe place for them to flourish and take them places they never dreamed of.

My Project

Our classroom is set up to meet the diverse needs of all students. This is done through the use of flexible seating. During independent work times, students may choose a spot to work which best fits their individual learning needs. Often, students choose seats on the floor or we work whole group on the carpet. In order to promote classwork organization and allow a writing surface when not at a desk, each student will use their own storage clipboard. It will hold their classwork, as well as pencil and eraser, in one place, to simply grab and begin working .
