Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are from a low income area and we are a Title 1 school where one hundred percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students have a passion for learning and look forward to coming to class everyday. I want my students to continue to chase after their goals and help them be prepared to accomplish what they set out to do. Please help me continue to encourage my students to pursue their dreams by providing resources that will keep my students focused and engaged.

My Project

My students love to work around the room and out of their desks. We are currently using white boards as clipboards. Having a class set of clipboards would make it easier for my students to work at the front carpet or in the library. Having clipboards easily accessible will make it easier to have whole group lessons on the carpet. A pencil sharpener would greatly benefit our class. Our current pencil sharpener has to be plugged into the wall to be used and unplugged when it is not being used. Throughout the year we do many projects that involve cutting and gluing. A class set of scissors will allow each of my students to have their own pair of scissors to use and not have to share.
