This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very excited about the future and their journey to college. We are aiming high and looking forward to visiting an ivy league school.

This is an AVID class (Advancement Via Individual Achievement) AVID"s Mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and success in the global society.

These are students with great college potential but have factors in their life that may keep them from going, or even realizing they can.

My Project

The funds will be used to pay for buses to Stanford University. The class will be given a tour of the campus and meet with an admissions representative. Although there are many great colleges in the area, my students are interested in learning more about private colleges and ivy league schools. This trip will be inspirational.

Many of these students family members have not had the opportunity to go to college.

Their background knowledge about college preparation, costs, expectations and differences is very limited. This field trip will broaden their horizons and show them a truly fabulous learning institution.
