Ms. Howard from Bronx NY is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need tablets to increase the use of technology within the classroom, so they can make ongoing academic growth in the areas of reading, writing, computation, and comprehension.

Last year, everyday, my students entered the classroom, excited to partake in fun and engaging learning activities. Although, they lived in a poor environment where resources and opportunities are scarce; indeed they were awesome! Fortunately, in September, I am "Looping" with the same students. Grade 4, here they come.
"Alone we are smart, together we are brilliant." , stated by Steven Anderson.
That quote speaks to my mission of empowering student learning. One of the learning vehicles that assisted in academic and social improvement, throughout the school year for my diverse group of students was the use of technology.
Last year, my students requested to work on the computer to practice using a learning strategy, unfortunately, there were only two central laptops and two desktops for them to use to engage in interactive learning. Although, they were understanding, it is somewhat difficult to say," Not today, maybe in a couple of days." Regardless, they were eager to use the computers or laptops to practice multiplication problems, fractions, reading comprehension, researching topics, and other interesting activities (math and reading games, viewing BrainPop videos and etc.) Along with limited laptops, computers, speakers, and software within my classroom, I strongly felt the need to seek help with providing my students with another source or venue to develop academically, socially, and behavioral. This upcoming school year, I want to provide my same students from 3rd Grade (who will be my 4th Grade Class) with more opportunities to use technology.
