Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are creative, energetic and curious! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day eager to learn something new. Truly, they are my inspiration!

All of my students are eager to come to school and escape the reality of their lives.

Our school is located in the heart a Michigan town. In an area of inadequate living conditions, high-risk neighborhoods, and low-income households. Yet, my students find a sense of safety, and positivity in my classroom.

Each student in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although some face challenges, they never give up. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky that I get to witness their academic and personal growth.

My Project

Using a car seat, also called a child safety seat, is the best way to protect kids when they're in a car. Car crashes are one of the leading causes of death and injury for children. Because car seats save lives, using a car seat is the law in every U.S. state.

But keeping your child safe depends on choosing the right safety seat and using it correctly.

The best car seat is the one that fits your child's weight, size, and age, as well as your vehicle. This car seat fits the need of my student, whom I want to keep safe as she travels back and forth to school and other destinations.
