My students need 25 metronomes to help with intonation and rhythmic accuracy and development in string orchestra class.

Many students come in with little knowledge of sound practicing methods. Using the metronomes as a tool for playing in tune and playing their musical rhythms will enhance their overall enjoyment and understanding in our music classes.
Many of my students have been playing for 2-3 years in middle school and now they are transitioning to a high school level.
My students live in a mostly working class area. They don't own instruments and have no resources for accessories. My students are very dedicated and committed to their musical endeavors. They have been training all summer even though they are not in school. They have worked very hard to gain experience and learn as much as they can about their instruments and rehearsing their musical pieces diligently. Our students also get the opportunity to branch out and try other musical interests. Our school is a fosters strong education environment even with the lack of funding and resources. We have great teachers and a strong Fine Arts Department. We aim to represent ourselves in the best light and remain consistent and on par with our peers. Our students are able to work hard and make themselves worthy candidates to top universities.
These students could be better if they had a more efficient metronome and a mirror for them to check their technique. When in rehearsal, I use a metronome and a speaker to help with any tempo issues within the group. This serves to help the orchestra's tempo issues. The tuner, on the other hand, will help students improve their pitch accuracy and learn their tendencies. Each student would be able to use this tool at school and at home. These materials will help future generations of the orchestra by providing better equipment for rehearsals and practice. This will allow students to better themselves tempo wise and technique wise with the mirror.
These devoted children spend hours and hours within the classroom for not only rehearsal, but for sectionals and lessons.
However, they lack certain materials to help them improve. Generally our school does not provide us a budget for such materials. Most of the time they cannot find people who support the orchestra because no one is interested in listening to the group. Also, in our community we are faced with several types of economic struggles.
