Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Teachers who love teaching, teach children who love learning." As I enter my 20th year of teaching, I continue to follow this mantra in my classroom. I teach 28 wonderful students who come from poverty. My students are from varying ethnic backgrounds. Most of them come from homes that are struggling financially.
My students are extremely motivated, and they are genuinely respectful to each other.
They are lovers of learning, and I am truly grateful to be their teacher this year. They come to school with smiles on their faces, and they are eager to learn. We need materials to use in our literacy centers.
My Project
My first grade students are aspiring readers. They love having books read to them. Story time is their favorite time of the day. Recently, I have been borrowing the Click Clack books by Doreen Cronin from the library. The students love them! They all want to take turns with the books during our independent reading time.
The Click Clack books by Doreen Cronin are funny, engaging, and easy to read beginner books.
These books are funny and teach us to stand up for our rights. I would love to have a set of Click Clack books for my classroom that the students and I can enjoy.
