My Students

This coming year, my classroom will be a full inclusion classroom. There will be 24 inquisitive, compassionate, high energy first-grade learners who will be ready to learn routines like the Daily 5.

This is a diverse population of children ranging in their abilities.

Some students will be reading books with chapters while others will still be learning their ABC's. My first-grade students will need access to books and technology in order to get them all to grade level expectation.

My Project

My students are fortunate to have access to iPads, but sadly iPads aren't the answers to all their needs. My students' abilities range from excelling writers to struggling readers. I would like to have Chromebooks in my classroom to offer even more options. My excelling writers can be typing their works for a more finished project. My struggling readers can be practicing their letters and sounds on websites not available as apps on the iPad. Having the opportunity for my students to have access to technology that would further their educational experience would propel them beyond current expectations for first graders.
