Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!" This is our classroom motto. I teach an incredible group of third graders who amaze me each and every day.
My school is a Title I school with a free and reduced-price lunch rate of 84% and a large population of English Language Learners.
Many of my students see school as a safe place to play, learn, and grow. We are a close-knit community of learners who love and support one another within and outside of school.
My Project
I am asking for materials to make our peace corner more inviting!
The peace corner is a powerful and touching space in the classroom that supports self regulation.
When students need a minute to settle the hub bub or take a quick break after a stressful math test, they can chose to go to the peace corner in our classroom. This is a private area with a few calming toys that help students calm down.
After years of being well loved, our peace corner is looking a little run down. I am asking for fidgets, calming books, a bean bag cover to spruce up our current bean bag, and clipboards so students can have silent reflection time.
The peace corner is one of my students favorite places in our room. Thank you for helping my students better learn to self care and self regulate.
