My students need a whiteboard that is easily visible. Students also need to be able to correct accounting and personal finance homework on their own, the document camera will help make this work time more efficient.
The students in our small, rural district come from diverse backgrounds and most of them can be described as economically disadvantaged. Our town does not have a significant source of industry for graduates and professionals. For many students, the only access they have to new technology and internet connectivity is here at the school.
Our students are hungry to learn new technology and be prepared for the future of industry, by gaining skills in coding, computer technology, website development and computer programming.
With a high level of economically disadvantaged students at our school, our goal is to provide every opportunity for them to gain skills that translate into real employment skills and/or the option to pursue higher education.
My Project
Students in my classroom are often engaged in multiple different courses. On any given day, students in my room are completing accounting, personal finance, web design or publications.
The chalkboard in the room is very difficult to see from the various locations By upgrading to a whiteboard, students will be able to see lecture notes, assignments and also participate in group learning events without creating dust that causes some students to have trouble breathing.
The document camera will allow me to display student work, examples of best practices and work keys so that students can check their homework efficiently. These tools will allow transitions to be completed more easily.
