Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 11-15 year old, in 7th and 8th grade attending a middle school in the center of busy large city in Florida wherein 78% of the 430 students enrolled in the school receive a free or reduced-price lunch. 99% are Hispanic and 1% is other. This school was built in 1950 and much of it is still in its original vintage condition. I am always looking for ways to incorporate technology and involve my students in the best learning strategies and opportunities. My students work hard and love to learn in a fun and educational way. The technology that I am requesting for my students is meant to engage. motivate and would allow me to model lessons or demonstration labs and ease stress in all my students. Providing students with opportunities to be involved and engaged helps them grow, have purpose, and be of service to all.
My Project
A Document camera will help me be able to show my students in a more 3-D perspective or even do labs step by step with students in this virtual learning age from anywhere.
This technology will allow my students to see documents in real time, and will allow me to model what I want the students to do, or complete labs with a document camera.
Additionally it will help me in addressing my kinesthetic learners and allow for movement in my very active students when it comes to doing exploration labs or STEM projects in a step by step basis with my students at home.
Moreover, when we return to face to face instruction, I will be able to continue to project my document camera and model my instructions and facilitate teaching for all learners.
