My students are a diverse group of 5th graders who understand that they each bring to our classroom varying strengths and challenges. They are hard-working, collaborative, and very supportive of each other. They are inquisitive, eager to learn and very tech savvy.
They want to understand the world in which they live and to become active and positive participants in it!
They are wonderful goal-setters and work hard to meet their goals!
They inspire me every day and want to inspire them with clear instruction!
My Project
A new projector will greatly enhance our student's ability to see what is projected on the screen in our classrooms clearly, and follow along with instruction, modeling and note-taking without dimmed lights or blurred vision getting in their way.
We need a new projector in order to clearly see what is under the document camera - something we use during almost every period, every day - and do our best work in class.
During math, for example, the teacher (and students!) use our document camera to model problems from our lesson. During science, we might actually have a living plant or animal under the doc cam! During writing, we project mentor texts to use to model a strategy we are teaching.
With our current projector, we have to turn off two of three lights just to barely see what's on the screen. The dimness in the room makes it difficult for students to see their workbooks or their notebooks and the screen is still not clear to students in the back. This new projector will help us focus on the lessons and use technology in an effective way!
