Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach first grade in a Title I school. Although my students may live in an impoverished neighborhood, my students are vibrant and will brighten up your day! They can be an energetic bunch! They are hard workers and love to show this to anyone who walks into our classroom or whoever they see in the hallway!
My students are an amazing group of children with different abilities and personalities.
They are busting at the seams to learn. They are excited to learn and grow.
My Project
It is wintertime in Connecticut. It is also flu season. There is an overload of germs running through our classrooms this time of year! We have used up all of our cleaning supplies!
It is hard to keep up with maintaining the cleanliness and health of our classrooms and students without essential cleaning supplies.
The wipes will be used to clean our tables off after breakfast and snack. The hand sanitizer will be used before eating and at other appropriate times to encourage the health of the first grade students. The chart paper will be used to create anchor charts of how students can be healthy and how to maintain the cleanliness of our classrooms. The storage containers will be used to keep our centers clean and organized.
It takes a community and awareness to keep a classroom clean and healthy. With this project, I will be able to teach my students and the other first grade students the importance of maintaining a clean classroom and having healthy habits.
