Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
One hundred percent of my student receive free breakfast and lunch. Over 70% are English Language Learners. They work hard each day because they want to be successful. They are ethnically diverse and extremely determined to learn and grow.
We have gone from a two star Nevada school to a five star Nevada School in the past three years, this proves the growth the students have made and how hard they have worked.
My students value learning and want to make a difference in the world.
My Project
The students at my school take Accelerated Reader quizzes after reading books. This lets us know that they are actually reading the books and comprehending what they are reading. I want to reward the students who do well on the tests by giving them pencils or mechanical pencils. I also need a way to keep the iPads clean after dozens of fingers use them each day. The pencils and cleaners will help students stay motivated and healthy. The simple act of cleaning the screens of the iPads helps the spread of student germs which will decrease the spread of the germs from student to student.
