My students need supplies to keep the classroom clean and germ free. The paper towels will help us conduct science experiments. Index card and folders will help my students become organized and begin learning right away.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. My students are all different types of learners and have various backgrounds. I have students who do not speak English, students with disabilities, and some students who are homeless.
I teach at a Title I school in the Bronx, New York where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Many of my students receive food and clothing from the school's charity drives. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
These materials will enable the students to walk in the classroom on the first day of school and get right to work. The students will have the notebooks to begin working right away. Sometimes we get a little bit messy with our hands-on projects and we need cleaning supplies. I teach my students the importance of being clean and organized. The students wipe off their desks with Lysol wipes and keep their work crisp in their folders. The index cards will help the students organize their information so they can use it in for their non fiction writing, or math projects.
