This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is a family of learners. I teach a classroom full of smiles, determination, silliness, and unwavering love. Students in my classroom, now remote, face intellectual, physical, and emotional challenges every day, but they never give up. When they can't verbally communicate, they find a way. They find a way to show how much they care.

Our students also live in a high-poverty area which makes our school even more unique because they may not always have everything they have and need at home.

We have a high diversity of learners who often need some sort of tools to be more successful. Despite challenges at home and in the community, my students are enthusiastic, inquisitive, and thoughtful. In my classroom, we work with our students to work hard daily to improve their communication, behavior, and academic skills.

My Project

My students, from Pennsylvania, work very hard and come to school every day with the things they need to learn. It would be beneficial for them to have some specific cleaning supplies that would help keep our classroom safer.

When a student realizes there isn't a special snack in their book bag from home, it breaks my heart!

My students love pringles, pretzels, and their favorite, goldfish crackers. They have so much stacked against them, an empty stomach shouldn't be on that list!

This project will make sure every student has a special snack to fill their bellies during the day. As well as, chapstick to keep their lips safe from old man winter. Colored dots, foil, and plastic wrap all are used for leftover snacks when they don't finish a whole package of something.

When students have their basic needs fulfilled, they can focus more on learning! Due to the pandemic, our school lunches are spread out which means we have many hours between lunch and going home.

Thank you for helping me provide snacks so they are not hungry!
