My students need supplies for a service learning project including litter clean up supplies like disposable gloves, garbage bags, and ties along with art supplies like watercolor sets, cardstock, crayons, and markers for poster creation.
My students are a compassionate group of young people that want to help make the world a better place. Coming from diverse backgrounds, my students have different strengths and interests. When we combine our efforts, there is no telling what we can accomplish!
My students are diverse in every sense of the word.
My class truly is a cross-section of American culture with a wide range of scholastic abilities, economic statuses, and heritages. We are all compassionate people. We have different talents that we can contribute to helping our fellow human beings through service learning!
My Project
We have been talking a lot this year about service learning. My students have big hearts and want to make their community a better place by cleaning up some of the litter that plagues our streets. We also want to create some art to hang to inspire others to keep our city clean and safe. We cannot embark upon such a clean up, though, because we do not currently have the supplies to do this safely. That's where the materials in this grant will come in to play! With gloves and bags for safe trash collection, we can make our dream a reality!
My students want to make a difference in the world.
When we talk about service learning, they want to really make a contribution themselves. Giving them the tools to see their plan of a community clean up become a reality will allow my students to see how their contributions, ideas, and good works can have an impact!
