This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am trying to give my students things they can not afford and things that my school district is not willing to pay for. We have equipment that reaches the bare minimum. What we have is below standard and falling apart.

My students need to experience things that students in other districts may take for granted.

I would love to play different games with them. I would love to expose them to things that they are not used to.

Through this donation, my students will find out new things about themselves. They will be able to bond with their peers in ways they haven't been able to in the past.

My Project

A large number of my students live in low-income housing. They do not have the luxury of owning a washing machine and dryer. We often have back to back days of baseball/softball/basketball games.

My students wear the same dirty uniforms day in and day out.

They do not have time during the week to go to a laundromat. Their families usually do laundry once a week, if that.

When we show up to games with dirty uniforms before a game even starts, it gives my players very low self esteem and overall morale. Every team in our school will benefit from this donation.
