My students need underwear and socks the most. Often times they come to school with out appropriate apparel and or do not have access to clean ones. This will allow them to have basic needs.
In this school we celebrate diversity and embrace it. We work daily to develop a sense of community not only with the students but with the staff as well. Teachers refer to Central elementary as "home," and the passion and love they share for the profession and students is palpable.
Students are loved and embraced at this school.
We work hard to make the school the safe and loving setting that many kids are not able to have at home because of their difficult family challenges. This school serves families that struggle to make ends meet on a daily basis and it is one of two in the district that serves free breakfast and lunch to all students. Despite the many hardships that our students face they still come to school with a bright smile and eager to learn. They are resilient and all they need is a little extra support to achieve greatness.
We have created out first community center so that our students can have access to basic needs that hinder them from achieving academic success. We are hopeful that with your support we can achieve that. Thank you, kindly for your support.
My Project
Central Elementary serves a very underprivileged neighborhood. Due to its high need population we have started a Community and Resource Center to help the students, their families and the surrounding neighborhood meets their basic needs so that we can all work towards improving each others lives while also building a sense of community.
Our Community Center provides basic necessities like, food, clothing, school supplies, and emergency assistance to our families and neighbors to ensure that students have those basic needs met and can come to school ready to learn.
Most kids struggle to have a stable living environment and often times do not have clean underwear and socks. This project will allow us to provide these to children that do not have access to a washer or dryer and or have accidents at school. We find that this is one of the things that we need the most. I truly thank who ever can help and support our children have some of the basic necessities that most of us take for granted.
