Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of my students receive a free lunch. Many of my students do not have the best home life, yet they come to school with a positive attitude, hoping to learn and create a better future for themselves.
I teach at a career center where students learn better kinesthetically, so I’d like to be able to engage them with more labs rather than worksheets.
They are hard workers and deserve every opportunity for success.
My Project
These cleaning products will be used to ensure that students not only have a safe but clean classroom to come to each day. The first step in teaching students is them feeling comfortable in their environment. I want my students to take ownership of their classroom and be proud of it. We grow gardens in our classroom so it is very important to keep it clean.
Each day when students complete their assignments, they are given an opportunity to complete chores for which they receive classroom points.
This helps to keep students out of trouble the last couple of minutes each period. Students are actually excited to do the class chores and bring their friends in class to show off how nice it is.
