This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 9th graders in inner city Oklahoma City. My classes range from high performing to a co-taught class with around 40% of the students being on an IEP. All of which have amazing potential and drive. Regardless of the level my students were at when they entered my class we create a similar point of reference, through labs, in which to build ideas. It is my goal to provide an active and safe environment for the students to experience science in real life!

My Project

It is important to have proper safety equipment in the lab room. So, time must be set aside to ensure the equipment is cleaned and in good working order. The goggle cleaning cabinet will help to cut down on class time that is used for cleaning and maintaining the equipment. With 47 minute class periods it is already difficult enough to complete a lab.

The addition of a goggle cleaning cabinet will help ensure the students safety equipment is safe.

It will also reduce the amount of time in class spent on cleaning the safety equipment. Students will be able to spend more time actually performing the lab.
