This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a Middle School Math Specialist/Teacher at a neighborhood K-8 Elementary School in the western part of my city. I work with all of the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders. As with most schools, my students are on multiple academic levels and my job is to help them get and stay on level.

My students are creative, kind and funny.

They want to understand the material. The curriculum that we are using is hard for them to understand and they cannot follow. I want to give them all the resources that they need to understand everything I need to teach. I want to give them the opportunity to expand their horizons by reading about other kids their age that do the impossible every day.

My Project

The requested items will be used to keep our classroom and hands clean. I requested disinfectant wipes, so I can wipe down all of the desks. I requested tissues, because it is still cold and flu season and we need them for our noses. I purchased both types of air fresheners to keep the room smelling clean and fresh. I also requested hand sanitizer to keep our hands germ free.

I am requesting cleaning supplies and paper products to keep our room clean and our students healthy.

These products will go a long way in our classroom. We also really need them.
