Our fifth grade classroom is a lively environment that fosters inquiry based learning. We believe that all kids should have equal opportunities to explore and create rich academic experiences. In order to make this a really, all students need to have access to the world of technology throughout each school day.
We have a group of 30 fifth grade students in my public school classroom in the heart of Brooklyn.
Our classroom is filled with various cultures and life experiences due to students with families from around the world. In turn empathy and understanding are naturally embedded in our classroom communities. Students are the center of our classroom communities. We encourage them to guide their own learning and become thinkers that question the world around them.
My Project
Recently our class was lucky enough to have a water filter donated to our community. This filter is extra special, because it filters out lead, making all of our community members confident in knowing we're drinking the healthiest water throughout our school day. Now, we hope to get a replacement filter for our filtration system as we transition into June's heatwave!
In our classroom, we also regularly have a shortage of cleaning products that help keep our students safe and germ free.
With this project, we're aiming to provide more paper towels, tissues, and disinfectants for the children. These products will help protect the kids against germs from each other, desks, and all other materials in our learning environment.
