Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My First grade students view each day as an opportunity to learn and explore the world around them. They develop their minds with new skills every day. My incredible students are filled to the brim with energy and enthusiasm for learning. My school is Title I and located in a low socioeconomic community with limited resources. All of my students receive free school lunch and are classified as English language learners. As part of a dual language program, my students must meet grade level standards in both English and Spanish. As a result, my students must be organized and able to quickly access materials for the appropriate language and activities of the day.
My Project
Often people take breathing for granted. As a chronic Asthmatic myself, I know how hard my students struggle when their asthma flares up. Our school is near a dense, urban center complete with all the dust and air pollution that city living brings. As such, many of my students often miss school because of their Asthma flare ups. An air purifier would filter out irritants in our classroom air and allow all of my students to breathe easier in school.
We need a safe and healthy classroom that we can breathe in!
Your support would improve the quality of life for all my students by giving us a chance to breathe safely.
