Clean, Fed, and Ready to Learn: Supporting Life Skills Learners

My Project

My students are incredible learners who benefit from a safe, structured, and supportive environment. They are part of a Life Skills Support classroom, which means we focus not just on academics, but also on functional skills that will help them thrive in everyday life. In order to do that well, we need basic supplies that keep our classroom clean, our students healthy, and our learning tools running smoothly.

Every day, we go through at least 15 cleaning wipes to keep desks, tables, and high-touch surfaces sanitized.

This is especially important for students with health vulnerabilities. We also use about two boxes of tissues each month and go through hand sanitizer quickly—keeping germs at bay helps keep kids in school and ready to learn.

Many of my students wear glasses, but often come to school with them smudged or dirty, making it hard to see and focus. Glass cleaning wipes allow us to support their vision needs with dignity and ease.

We also have students who arrive late or without breakfast. Providing simple breakfast snacks ensures they don’t start the day hungry, which can greatly affect focus and behavior.

Additionally, we are in need of pencil holders to help students stay organized, and a few new calculators to replace broken ones. These tools help build independence and success in both math tasks and classroom routines.

With your support, we can create a clean, organized, and supportive space that meets my students’ basic needs so they can focus on what matters most: learning and growing.
