I would like for my classroom to reflect my personality. I want the students to feel like they belong in there, and I want them to feel at ease in my classroom. I like to decorate my classroom for the different seasons, and my students love to help with this. I want my students to want to come to school and enjoy learning.
I teach in a small middle school located in a very rural area.
Most kids in our school fall below the national poverty line. I teach self-contained special education with a small class size of eight students. All of my students are learning at a different level from the others in the classroom. I have students in wheelchairs and students with behavior issues. My students are very active in the school. They like to help out the faculty, and they love to keep the school clean. They are a fun bunch and deserve materials to further their education.
My Project
My class was fortunate enough to have a portable washing machine and laundry detergent donated to our class. Within a week we have washed many loads of clothes, not just in our class but other students in the school as well.
We have washed several loads of clothes within the past week for students who have been found to have unclean clothes by other teachers within the school.
I am requesting detergent to help us make it through the year. At the rate we are washing clothes we will need several bottles of detergent to continue washing for other students in the school.
