My Students

I teach English and Critical Reading to 9th grade high school students. My students are creative and passionate; they come willing to learn. The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all of our lives in stressful ways, and I’ve noticed the effects in our classroom. I would like to lighten the stress a bit by creating a safer space for learning. We all know healthy classroom environments help strengthen learning outcomes. My students deserve to feel safe each day walking into our classroom.

My Project

I want my students to walk into our room each day feeling as safe as possible! Covid has made classroom safety more complicated. Classroom environments shape learning outcomes, and our classroom does not have windows. This has caused students and myself added stress during the Covid pandemic. By placing a powerful air purifier in our classroom, students will be able to have a better chance at not catching viruses, becoming ill, and missing weeks of classes. I would like to give them a little boost during this stressful time by making the air we breathe a little safer!
