My students are from a Title I school in the suburbs of Detroit. The Transitional Kindergarten program gives children from all cultures and various incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive within the district before going to kindergarten. My energetic TK students enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore.
They love to read books, draw pictures, use online programs, build structures, and compare, sort, and pretend play throughout the day.
They light up as they proudly identify letters and discover sounds. They love to learn!
My Project
Our classroom is always doing projects and painting. We have great custodians, but often are short staffed, so we need to clean up our little messes we make throughout the day while we learn and explore.
The wipes, hand soap, paper towels, and other cleaning supplies in this project will help us maintain a clean and safe classroom while teaching responsibility.
Working with 4 and 5 year olds is a messy, but fun job. Teaching them to clean up after themselves when they make little messes helps keep our room clean- wiping down the tables to clean up glue and paint, and other materials. It will also keep the students safe for example mopping up spilled water with paper towels to prevent slips and falls. As well as, building a community of responsible helpers.
These cleaning supplies will help us maintain a classroom that is clean and safe for all, while allowing us to keep on exploring through hands on projects and painting.
