My Students

As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, I work with students who are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking for a way to solve basic things we need each day.

These students shouldn't have to worry about basic supplies, as they already have enough to worry about!

Let's make life just a little bit easiest on them as they navigate these sometimes unspeakable challenges.

My Project

Many don't have two parent families, and are often a brother or sister to many other siblings. Sometimes they must be the mother or father to younger siblings. They often don't get to eat or sleep very much at night and have trouble focusing during the day. Many are very bright but have challenges that stand in their way. It's my job to help break down those barriers and let them have an equal chance to succeed.

Many of our students come to school with dirty or broken clothes and outerwear.

Earlier this year, my school was gifted a used washer and dryer, however, it is expensive to buy laundry detergent!
