My classroom is full of students who are emergent bilingual learners. All of my students are learning English. My emergent bilingual learners are either recent arrivals or brand new to the country. My students bring a wide variety of cultures, languages and experiences to the classroom in order to create a diverse learning environment.
In addition to learning English, my students are expected to expand their knowledge in order to reach the second grade Common Core curriculum state standards.
My school is a small, inclusive, public school that is part of a large urban district where over seventy-five percent received free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
My students need cleaning supplies for the classroom and hygienic materials like tissues! It is that time of year again when the germs come out in full force! We need wipes to keep desks, tables, and hands clean and germ free. We need tissues to help friends who have colds and need to blow their noses.
These materials help keep my students healthy and in school!
Absences can harm a student's academic progress because they are not in school! Keeping students healthy can help reduce absences due to illness. While these materials may seem small they go a long in our classroom. Please help keep us healthy this winter!
