Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into the classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything. I want them to be successful in school and in everyday life.

I teach at a Title I school in Kentucky where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

70% of my class are English language learners who love to come to school. Many of my students receive backpacks of food on the weekend and come from a very low socioeconomic homes. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they will be successful one day.

My Project

Since Covid 19 hit schools have been thinking of ways to keep students safe and healthy in school. Students will not be able to share items or classroom materials without them being plastic and sanitized. Most students in my school are from low socioeconomic backgrounds and cannot afford items to remain safe and healthy while in school in the current times.

The storage containers will allow students to return and stay healthy in school.

The students will have a their own storage bin to store notebooks, books, pencils, and other school supplies safely. This will increase the chance of students staying out of harm's way.
